Community Education plays a key role in supporting youth through focused programs and opportunities. We provide more than just education and enrichment, we help contribute to a sound and thriving community by providing young people with engaging activities that help them grow.

Providing fun activities and learning opportunities for children year-round; after-school, in the evenings and on the weekends; to enhance your child's academic and social experiences while out of school.
Elementary and middle school athletic programs are supervised and led by certified coaches, licensed teachers or knowledgeable staff who emphasize skill development, participation, teamwork, and respect for others. Community Education also offers camps and clinics to help students gear up for the athletic programs offered at South Washington County high schools.
Kids Club (grades K-3) and Upgrade (grades 4-5) is the school district school-age child care program, open to all South Washington County Schools students and provided at all elementary school sites throughout the district. Out-of-School Time (OST) care is available before and after school and all day on school release days, including winter, spring and summer breaks.
Swimming and water safety is a skill that your children will use for life! SoWashCo Schools Community Education offers swimming lessons to support youth with a wide range of skill levels.
South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) offers activities and classes for youth through SoWashCo Community Education. Activities and classes are conveniently offered at your child's school, partner locations within our community and online.

This camp will emphasize respect for others and teach children manners and etiquette with a fun, hands-on approach. Your child will learn social etiquette, proper introductions and fine dining skills. Lunch demo last day.
Ages 8-12.5
Offers the same experience as the DASH Sports Basketball Camp but includes a Jr. NBA jersey customized with your choice of NBA Team, name and number.
Grades K-5
Use Scratch, a drag-and-drop creative coding platform, to create Mario Kart-style game. Then pick custom characters and track to personalize your game.
Grades 3-6
Come out and play! Learn communication skills, self-confidence and respect towards other’s ideas while playing improv games and learning theater basics.
Grades 3-9
Learn to sew, including basic sewing techniques, sewing tools, different types of stitches and practice with a sewing machine. Create new projects each month.
Ages 8-12
Improve your test-taking skills and overall scores. Since 1988, on average, students who finish the course increase their scores significantly on the ACT (36 pt. total).
Grades 9-12
Join the chess club to meet and play with other players in your school. Learn the basics and strategies of chess. Tournament play is encouraged but not mandatory. Perfect for beginners and intermediates.

Spark your imagination as you recreate masterpieces by renowned artists like Banksy, Van Gogh and Da Vinci.
Ages 5-12
Increase your speed, improve your agility and overall quickness with our fast-paced drills coordinated by our Skyhawks coaches. Designed for athletes at any skill level.
Ages 5-11
Focus on dribbling, shot technique, passing and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately sized basketballs are used to always provide just the right amount of challenge.
Ages 2-4
Explore the colors of the rainbow as we use sprinkles, Fruit Loops, marshmallows, frosting, and more to create a colorful candy scene complete with a 3D rainbow. Sweet!
Ages 4-9
Ooey gooey gunk- kids love it! Parents hate it in their home! Leave it to us. Come ready to get messy with your child as we make gooey gunk and shaving cream sundaes.
Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Ages 1.5-6

No school? No problem! DASH Sports offers full-day camps on select non-school days. Students practice fun instructor-led skill-based activities and games in three sports: Soccer, Basketball, and Flag Football.

Ninjas develop strength and agility during this 8 weeklong course by learning different styles and techniques to master all obstacles! Increase flexibility, problem-solving, and coordination.
Ages 5-13
The Junior High / Middle School competition cheerleading team is a 5th - 8th grade cheer team (for incoming 5th through 8th graders). We stunt, tumble, jump and perform a 2-minute routine at local competitions from November through January. You must have made this team during tryouts in order to register for this class.
Grades 5-8
Focus on skill development and team play while learning the fundamentals of basketball. Participate in games within the SoWashCo Schools district. Transportation is not provided.
Grades 7-8
Gain a competitive edge on your opponents! This program will develop athletes’ speed, power, strength, mobility, agility and conditioning.
Grades 6-8
Learn the fundamentals of wrestling and participate in matches with surrounding schools within the Suburban East Conference. For boys and girls in grades 6-8 at all SoWashCo middle schools.

Community Education offers teen driver’s education in partnership with Safeway Driving School. Learn to be a safe and skillful driver.

A distance learning option with the same content as our in-person course. Classroom instruction is conducted through a secure Zoom platform.
Ages 14.5-18
Swimming lessons, specialty classes, fitness and recreational opportunities for adults and children as young as 12 months.
We offer classes for girls and boys ages 18 months-18 years old.
