As a service to our community, this space is for SoWashCo Community Education and non-profit groups to share special events, programs and activities.

SoWashCo Community Education Activities Flyers 

SoWashCo Community Education offers quality education, enrichment and athletic opportunities for all ages. These programs provide participants with opportunities to pursue their interests, expand their abilities and improve social skills in a fun and safe environment. To see our full list of offerings visit sowashco.ce.eleyo.com.

SoWashCo Community Education partners may send flyer distribution requests to flyers@sowashco.org. Requests must be for a current or upcoming SoWashCo Community Education activity or class. Please include the link to the class in Eleyo and a PDF flyer.

Community Organization Flyers

Groups/organizations that meet the eligibility criteria below must send a link to a webpage or PDF flyer about the event or program, a short description of the event or program, the organization name and the event organizer's contact information to flyers@sowashco.org.

Fall Break Camps are full of energy and seasonal color! Send the kids over to Shepard Farm in Cottage Grove for a day of outdoor learning and fun. Choose from two different days of camps for Grades K–2 and Grades 3–4. Sign up for one day of camp or both!

Halloween Extravaganza with Dodge Nature Center

Celebrate Halloween at Dodge Nature Center’s Shepard Farm property in Cottage Grove! Trick-or-treat through the woods, ride the tractor-pulled wagon, and meet reptiles & amphibians. Try your luck at field games to win extra treats, then settle in for some silly science skits that will educate and entertain. Family-friendly fun awaits boo.

Dyslexia Awareness Month Events 2026

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month! The Reading Center has put together a schedule of events in and around October to help spread awareness of dyslexia. Visit www.TheReadingCenter.org/Outreach-Events to register.

Storytime with Dyslexic Author, Michael Hall

  • When: Oct. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Where: Highland Park Public Library, St. Paul
  • What: Decoding Dyslexia MN and The Reading Center invite you to join us for a special Storytime with acclaimed dyslexic author and illustrator Michael Hall! Elementary-aged students and their families will enjoy a reading, a short Q&A, and hear Michael share a bit about his dyslexia journey. This event is free and open to the public. 

Dyslexia Simulation

  • When: Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: The Reading Center, 7650 Currell Blvd. Suite 320, Woodbury
  • What: Immersive, in-person experience that allows participants the opportunity to experience the struggles that students with dyslexia face each day in a school setting. This event is free and open to the public.
