Early Learning

Preschool Spots still remaining! Register Today!

Preschool serves as an introduction to the school experience. By exposing students to a comfortable and inspiring classroom environment, students are eager to continue to learn and grow in kindergarten and beyond. SoWashCo Schools provides high-quality preschool programming through the Early Learning Preschool program.

Children gain important skills and experiences in: Learning to follow routines and rules Learning to get along with other children Literacy, introductory reading and writing Math and number sense, science, art and music

The Community Education department is proud to offer preschool programs,

which have given SoWashCo Schools the opportunity to connect with and support students before they enter kindergarten.

Current availability at the District Program Center, 8400 E. Pt. Douglas Rd. S., Cottage Grove, MN (for children 3 years or older by September 1, 2021)

3 year olds:

  • Tuesday/Thursday 9:15-11:45 a.m.
  • Tuesday/Thursday 1:15-3:45 p.m.

3 & 4 year olds:

  • Monday/Wednesday, Friday 1:15-3:45 p.m. Monday/Wednesday 1:15-3:45 p.m.

Early Learning Programs includes Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), Preschool, and Early Childhood Screening.

Youth Enrichment




  • Kids in the Kitchen All class favorites, crepes, monkey bread and more.
    • Adult supervision recommended for students under 13
  • Do At Home Kits: Friendship Bracelets, Weaving Projects, Beaded Keychains and more!
    • Fun for all ages, under 6 years may need adult help/supervision for some.
  • Science Explorer Kits Lots of STEM activity kits to choose from.
    • Preschool – Elementary age

Park Youth Wrestling

  • Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct 25 - Dec 15, 6-6:50 pm for
  • Ages 4-9 and 7-8:30 pm for Grades 1-6

Kids Club

We're Hiring! If you like working with kids and are looking for part time or full time work, Kids Club may be the place for you! 

Kids Club is a school age child care program operated by SoWashCo Schools Community Education. Kids Club is offered before and after school and on school release days at all 16 elementary schools. Experience working with children is preferred.
